Helios Alliance to Present at 2024 Syndemic Summit

We are excited to announce The Helios Alliance will be presenting at the upcoming Syndemic Summit. Their presentation, We’re All In This Together: Creating Public Private Partnerships to Drive Opioid Abatement will be part of a broader panel, All Things Opioid Settlements. At this time, other panelists will include Shelly Weizman (O’Neill Institute, Georgetown University School of Law) and Glenn Sterner, III (Elevate PA Initiative).

The Syndemic Summit is hosted by the Community Education Group, whose work broadly focuses on community engagement in the three epidemics harming the Appalachian region: HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and substance use disorder.

The Syndemic Summit states its intention as identifying "sustainable solutions to the HIV, hepatitis, and overdose syndemic across Appalachia as a united region." The three areas of focus are integrated approaches to syndemic issues, opioid settlement funding, and economic infrastructure and income equity. More information about the conference can be found here: link.
